Sex in History

Handy Hannah Vibrator Since the start of the Industrial Revolution, manufacturers have been producing vibrators. Believe it or not, in 1869, Dr. George Taylor patented the first steam-powered version. I don't imagine that was too safe in the bedroom.

Luckily, electricity came along and by the 1950's, vibrators like this one, the "Handy Hannah", were available. Produced by Standard Products Corp. of Massachusetts, this was just one of the many appliances available from Handy Hannah, including hair dryers and blenders.

It was marketed as a way to "improve circulation" - nudge, nudge, wink, wink - and came with various screw-on attachments. One was for "Facial and Body Tissue" - well, I guess that covers just about everything - but what was this little knobby one for? They didn't say, but women figured it out.

Hey, from steam-powered to finger-sized vibrators - we've come a long way, baby.

Hot Stuff Sex Toy

Power Pals Vibrator Looking at the packaging, I would have said this was a kid's toy, but this is a toy for big kids, called POWER PALS. Let's look at it - the business end features an old man with a beard in purple silicone, don't askā€¦. Then there is a system of metal beads that would rotate around the vaginal opening giving you some pretty powerful sensations.

This is supposed to be a mouse in motion, followed by a vibrating tail which is supposed to stimulate around the rectum. Add a rocket and we could get to the moon - I don't think so. Power Pals requires 3 AA batteries. It is expensive, so be sure it is what you want and need. I wasn't too fond of it but some ladies who tried it out thought it was great. So, on the HOT STUFF HIBACHI OF LOVE, this one rates 3 briquets.

Sue's Mini Review

So many new studies are showing that too many Americans are overweight. Being large can have a negative impact on a person's sense of themselves as a sexual human being. HANNE BLANK has written a great book, BIG BIG LOVE FOR PEOPLE OF SIZE, that covers everything - meeting a partner, accepting fat, comfortable sexual positions, size and pleasure.

If you are heavy, or know someone who is, this book might just give then the confidence to explore love and sex for themselves. Highly recommended.
