hi randy i have a question, i recently had unprotected sex few weeks back and i noticed that a part of the left side of my neck under the lower jaw bone has like a little swollen ball in it, at first i thought it was like a razor burn but when i push my finger deep in my neck i can feel a small ball, and feels like its swollen, its not really painful, but i tried poking the other side of my neck and theres no ball, im very very scared right now, i think its HIV can you help me out, please and thank you

I would be concerned about this too. It certainly sounds like a swollen gland, and swollen glands can be an early sign of HIV infection. They, of course, can have MANY other origins - various infections and viruses, so jumping to panic mode is premature at this point. Unfortunately, you will have to wait 3 months to be tested for HIV. Having been through this myself, I know how nerve-wracking this can be. But that is what you have to deal with, and hope for the best. In the meantime, make sure you always use condoms. I'm sure you will from now on. If the swollen gland persists, talk with your doctor and consider other causes.Randy
