Sue's Last ShowPosted by Several emails on May 08, 2008 at 06:14:53:
I am sorry to hear that she will be off the air on oxygen. I want to tell you that in Naples, Florida, they took Oxygen (channel 79) totally out of our basic cable and put it into some premium channel which costs much more. We haven't been able to watch her show in the last month. I know all my friends were very disappointed about that and will be more so about Sue.
- C.Hello, Randy:
I was forwarded an email by a friend who knows I'm a fan of Sue's. The email stated that Sue is retiring after this season. Please say it ain't so!
- L.Hello Randy! heard on the radio today that Sue is going to retire from doing the show?
Any idea when her last shows will be?
I wish her all the best! And thank her for all the time she has giving us who cant go see her personally!
- P.I've sent a blistering e-mail to them--I can't believe it. I'm so grateful for Sue's show. I hope that you'll try for another outlet.
I'm going to miss the show--where else can I learn??
Best wishes,
C.Randy,
I just was told and read on another internet site that Talk Sex show is no longer going to be on Oxygen after this season! I understand that things have to move along and that for others but I think the show is very informative for everyone and I have been a regular viewer since I started watching it on the Oxygen network back three or four yrs ago or more and honestly, I think would be a real shame to see it go and wish it was still going to be on the air here.My question is this, is the website going to stay up or is that being shut down too?
- T.
I just saw the CNN website article that Sue's show has been cancelled. Sorry for all of you,the show will be missed. I hope Sue continues at least on the internet. I hope some smarter network picks up the show in the future. Thank you all for your efforts.

Yes, this Sunday will mark the last live episode of 'Talk Sex'. The show will continue in repeats throughout the summer, as it normally does. The show was not cancelled. In fact, it is Oxygen's highest rated late night program. No, this was entirely Sue's decision, and it was a tough one for her to make.
When the show was moved to midnight in February, it became apparent that the later hour was just too hard on Sue, who is 77 years old. However, she has stuck it out until the end of the season and then threw in the towel. Although the time change was not the only factor - her workload of lectures also takes a toll - it was the primary factor in her decision.
If you know anything about Sue, you will know how distressing this decision was for her. Sue has a mission - good reliable sex information for all - and she worries about who will fill that gap now. Fame and celebrity mean nothing to her; she could care less, as viewers could tell by her complete lack of vanity. She could give a shit if her hair was sticking straight up or her collars were lop-sided - it was the information that counted. I can't tell you how inspiring it is to work with someone who believes passionately in what they are doing, and who has a more noble mission that trying to get on the cover of 'People' magazine.
Sue has STRESSED repeatedly over the last couple of days that she is NOT retiring. She will continue her college lectures and is considering returning to radio, which she loves. She has also offered to do some specials for Oxygen.
The web site will continue for now. 'Talk Sex' airs in 23 other countries besides the US, and those contracts continue for the next couple of years. Those viewers will continue to have access to this resource and Sue's work.
And don't be surprised to see some DVD releases coming up. I fully expect that we will do some 'Best of' packages for release.
Thanks to everyone for their support and comments. I will print them out and pass everything along to Sue. She will appreciate it.
Randy
