Hi Randy
I'm confused- your response to C on 5/10 says that sexual stimulation is higher during solo masturbation than thru intercourse. But, so many times your response to women's queries about their husbands masturbations habits is that it is just "utilitarian".
Most of us women (I'm sure) would like to believe that we cause the rockets to fly and the sheets to smoke- certainly better for the hubby than than the ole hand job!
Which is it?
Thanks

It's both! If you stick electrodes and monitors on a guy and have him masturbate, all the anatomical indicators will show higher levels of stimulation than he achieves through intercourse. However, sex with a partner provides many other intangible pleasures - flesh-to-flesh contact, auditory cues, verbal cues, a sense of closeness, etc. These "enhanced" elements make sex with a partner a more rewarding experience for both genders in most cases. My main point re: males and masturbation is that masturbation is not in competition with intercourse - it is in conjunction with it. It is another sexual tool in the arsenal. Typically, men who are in a relationship masturbate because it's quick and easy - takes far less time that a love-making session and still relieves the pressure. Some women view this as a "failing" on their part, but it's just common sense when you think about it. As any man can tell you, he can ejaculate from masturbation, but rarely has an orgasm from it. In that sense, it is utilitarian.
