Survey taken June 25 - July 19, 2004
If you caught your partner participating in a sex chat room online, how would you feel? Women Men
It's just harmless flirting. 20% 23%
He or she is cheating on me. 46% 32%

If you caught your partner viewing porn online and masturbating, how would you feel?
It's just harmless fun. 33% 53%
He or she is cheating on me. 7% 3%
Shouldn't I be the one turning him or her on? 47% 29%
I don't care. 14% 14%

When we first ran this survey a year and a half ago, men did not consider their partner in a chat room to be cheating. Now, they do. Sadly, I think, women still feel that somehow they've "failed" if their partner is masturbating alone with online porn. To me, it says that the concept of female subservience and designated provider of sex to male partners is unhappily still alive and kicking. 10,600 respondents.
